What we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may process:
- Files you upload — only when a tool runs on our servers (for example some Office conversions). Browser-only tools process files on your device without uploading them to us for that conversion step.
- Contact form — name, email address, and message content when you email us through Contact.
- Technical & usage data — such as approximate IP-derived location (often at city/country level), browser type, timestamps, and pages viewed. This helps security and improvement.
- Cookies & similar technologies — used for essential site function, preferences where applicable, analytics, and advertising partners.
- Optional Google account tokens — if you choose to connect Google Drive, we store OAuth tokens in your session so your browser can save or open files you explicitly pick. We do not use this to read your entire Drive.
You do not need an account to use PDF Win. We only collect account-related data if you voluntarily connect third-party services such as Google Drive.
How we use information
- Provide, operate, and troubleshoot tools you request.
- Respond to support messages sent through the contact form.
- Maintain security (abuse detection, fraud prevention, stability).
- Measure usage and improve performance and UX (analytics).
- Show advertising where configured (for example Google AdSense).
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms.
Google Drive (optional)
If you connect Google Drive, Google’s authorization screen explains the access you grant (typically limited scopes such as creating or accessing files you choose through our integration).
Saving or importing through Drive may route the file through our servers once to complete the transfer you requested. Google’s privacy policy also applies to data held in your Google account.
Retention
We aim to keep server-processed files only as long as needed to complete your task and routine cleanup. Logs and backups may persist for a limited period for security and operations.
Contact messages may be retained long enough to respond and maintain records consistent with our legitimate interests, unless you ask us to delete non-archival copies where feasible.
Security
We use HTTPS and reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No online transmission or storage is perfectly secure; use the service at your discretion for sensitive documents.
Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing, or to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.
For ad personalization, use industry tools (such as Google’s ad settings) where available.
Children
PDF Win is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe we received such information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Changes
We may update this policy periodically. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy.
