Add a Text Watermark to a PDF
Stamp custom text (such as "CONFIDENTIAL", "DRAFT", or a company name) on chosen pages. Preview the first page in your browser, tune placement, rotation, colour, and opacity, then download a new PDF. Nothing is uploaded — processing stays on your device.
How it works
- Open or drop your PDF (up to 64 MB), or paste from the clipboard.
- Type your watermark, set position, rotation, font, size, opacity, and page range. The preview updates as you go.
- Click Apply watermark and download the new PDF.
Tips for best results
- Use about 25-40% opacity with a 30-45° rotation for a classic diagonal stamp that stays readable underneath.
- Built-in PDF fonts cover Latin text best — rare symbols or scripts may need a different tool.
- The watermark is drawn into the page content (not a removable PDF "watermark" annotation).
Frequently asked questions
- Can I remove the watermark later?
- Watermarks added here are baked into the page content. They cannot be removed with a standard PDF viewer.
- Can I watermark a password-protected PDF?
- No - remove the password protection first, then add the watermark.
- Is text or image watermarking supported?
- This tool supports text watermarks. Image watermarks are not available here yet.
- Does my file get uploaded?
- No. Preview and stamping run in your browser; the file does not leave your device.
